From Ravel's elegant Le Tombeau de Couperin to the triumphant notes of Vivaldi's Concerto for 2 Trumpets and the captivating dialogue between violins in Bach's Concerto for 2 Violins, every piece promises extraordinary virtuosity and musical finesse. With Viet Cuong's innovative Extra(ordinarily) Fancy for 2 Oboes and Bloch's grand opus Concerto Grosso No. 1, be prepared for a concert that pays homage to then transcends classical music boundaries.

Meet our Soloists

A native of Minersville, Pennsylvania, Dana Allaband studied under Simon Maurer, Sylvia Ahramjian, James Stern, and Arnold Steinhardt and has received degrees from West Chester University, Pennsylvania, and University of Maryland. Dana has concertized in Venezuela, Romania, Cameroon, Carnegie Hall, and various universities across the country. She has been principal second violinist of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra for over a decade and has served as concertmaster with Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, Kennett Symphony, and Anthracite Philharmonic. She’s also performed as an orchestral musician with Reading Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Annapolis Symphony, and Pennsylvania Sinfonia. As an active chamber musician, Dana is currently a violinist with the Gabriel Chamber Ensemble, Monteverde String Quartet, Mill Race Collective and was a member of Elysian Camerata for many years. Expressing her interest in various genres of music, Dana has performed rock music with Rachel Barton Pine and tango music with Trifilio Tango. She regularly appears as first violinist with Philadelphia singer/songwriter Andrew Lipke and the Azrael String Quartet and is the violinist in One Alternative.
Mrs. Allaband has taught at Millersville University and Albright College and is currently Assistant Director of Sunday Sinfonia at Albright College. She is the recipient of the 2016 LLMEA Private Teacher Award. While currently maintaining a private violin and viola studio in Berks County, Pennsylvania, Dana also coaches chamber music each summer at the Bear Crossing Chamber Music String Camp in New Ringgold, Pennsylvania, and Vermont Music and Arts at Northern Vermont University in Lyndonville, Vermont.

Noelle Drewes is an adjunct assistant professor at the Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College, where she teaches oboe and is a resident artist member of the Sunderman Wind Quintet. She serves as principal oboe with the Apollo Orchestra, the Two Rivers Chamber Orchestra, and the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra. She also plays second oboe with the MidAtlantic Symphony Orchestra and the Lancaster Symphony.
An active freelancer, Noelle has appeared extensively as a substitute with the National Symphony Orchestra and NSO Pops on both second oboe and English horn, including numerous subscription series concerts at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, shows at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, and performances at the US Capitol.
Noelle has had the privilege of sharing the NSO stage with such eclectic artists as Gianandrea Noseda, Christoph Eschenbach, Leonard Slatkin, Ben Folds, Sara Bareilles, Renee Fleming, Hansen, Paquito D'Rivera, George Takei, and Misty Copeland, among others.
She has also performed with Mannheim Steamroller, the United States Air Force Band, in shows at the Tony Award® winning Signature Theatre, and concerts with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, and National Philharmonic, as well as the Lancaster, Annapolis, Fairfax, Maryland, Charlottesville, and Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestras, the orchestras of the Wolf Trap Opera Company, Washington Concert Opera, Maryland Lyric Opera, Opera Camerata of Washington, the Washington Chorus, Choral Arts Society of Washington, and the Washington National Cathedral Choral Society.
Noelle received her Bachelor of Music degree in oboe performance from the Ithaca College School of Music, including a semester of study at the Royal College of Music in London, England. She attended the University of Maryland for graduate school, earning both Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees.

Luis Engelke is Professor of Trumpet at Towson University and holds the position of Principal Trumpet with the Lancaster, Kennett, and Mid Atlantic Symphony Orchestras, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, and the Shippensburg Music Festival. He performs well over one hundred engagements annually as a soloist and orchestral/chamber musician and serves as Music Reviews Editor for the International Trumpet Guild Journal. His past solo albums A Brazilian Collection; Songs, Remembrances, and Impressions; and Sounds of the Chesapeake have received critical acclaim, including Global Music Awards. His anthology of Brazilian trumpet solos published by Balquhidder Music contains first editions of significant works from his home nation. Engelke’s most recent solo album Revelation, is a collection of his own original compositions for trumpet and fixed media (audio and video) inspired by recent world events. Each of the eclectic movements are published individually and as a book by Art of Sound Music.
A past board member for the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) and past Vice President for the Musicians’ Association of Metropolitan Baltimore (Local 40-543 of the American Federation of Musicians), he is the recipient of the local’s Distinguished Service Award. Engelke is a Yamaha Performing Artist/Clinician, and his own music has been performed around the world and at international conferences and venues.
A former member of Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira and Concert Artists of Baltimore, Engelke has performed with more than fifty professional orchestras internationally including the symphonies of Allentown, Baltimore, Delaware, Harrisburg, Maryland, Reading, Richmond, Phoenix, San Diego, York, Williamsburg, and Sydney (Australia), as well as the Thailand Philharmonic, Delaware Opera Orchestra, Opera Baltimore Orchestra, and Annapolis Opera Orchestra. He has been featured as soloist with the Endless Mountain Festival Orchestra, Rome Festival Orchestra, Orquestra Eintracht, Naval Academy Band, Gulf Coast Symphony, Frederick Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, and Lancaster British Brass Band, and performed with such diverse musicians as Andrea Bocelli, Sierra Boggess, Celtic Woman, Irish Tenors, Il Divo, Manheim Steamroller, and The Moody Blues, as well as Brazilian legends Paulo Moura, Ivan Lins, Sivuca, and Zé da Velha. Engelke recorded trumpet solos for soundtracks for the films Villa-Lobos: Sua Vida de Paixão, Stories of the Land, and Elefteria. He has performed as a soloist in North America, South America, Asia, Europe, and Australia and appeared on more than fifty commercially released recordings for the Pro-Arte, Decca, Innova, Aurora, Canyon, and several other labels.

Luigi Mazzocchi was born in Venezuela where he studied in the System of Youth Orchestras ("El Sistema"), the "Sojo" Conservatory, and the Latin American Violin Academy with José F. del Castillo. He is a founder of the Lara State Symphony Orchestra as principal second violin, Concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra of Venezuela, and a first violinist of the "Simón Bolívar" Symphony Orchestra, touring Latin America and Europe and recording a number of CDs on the Dorian Record label.
Mr. Mazzocchi has performed as soloist with all the leading Venezuelan symphony orchestras and attended international music festivals in the US, Panama, Spain, France, and Australia. He is a prizewinner in solo competitions such as the"Del Castillo" Latin American Violin Competition, the South Orange Symphony Artist Competition, the FOSJA Solo Competition in Puerto Rico (performing as soloist at the 1999 Casals Festival), and the Temple University Concerto Competition.
Since 1996, he has been living in the United States, where he studied violin with Lenuta Ciulei and Helen Kwalwasser. He holds a Bachelor's of Music from Rowan University and a Master's of Music from Temple University. He has coached with David Arben, Margaret Pardee, Zakhar Bron, Olivier Charlier, Naoko Tanaka, William de Pasquale, Luis Biava, Charles Parker, as well as the Emerson, Guarneri, and Orion String Quartets.
Currently, Mr. Mazzocchi is the Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra, the Lancaster Symphony, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, and the Ocean City Pops Orchestra; he is also Associate Concertmaster of the Delaware Symphony and a member of Opera Philadelphia, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the West Jersey Chamber Orchestra, the NoName Pops, the Pyxis Piano Trio, and Camerata Philadelphia. Mr. Mazzocchi is an artistic director of Artcinia and has served as substitute violinist and a teaching artist for the Philadelphia Orchestra. He has also performed with the Philly Pops, Orchestra 2001, the Philadelphia Classical Symphony, the Serafin and Dalí String Quartets, the Pagode Project, and Alô Brasil. Mr. Mazzocchi has been a featured artist for Intercultural Journeys.

Following in his late grandfather’s footsteps, who was solo cornet emeritus of the President’s Own, Guy McIntosh began learning trumpet at the age of 10. Guy first attended Towson University, studying with Luis Engelke (LSO’s principal trumpet). In his third year at Towson, Guy applied for a prestigious year-in semester at the Royal Academy of Music in London. After auditioning, he was instead invited to transfer to the Academy and offered a full scholarship.
Guy flourished musically at the Royal Academy. He performed regularly with the Academy Symphony and Concert Orchestras, working with world-renowned conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Tadaaki Otaka, Susanna Malkki, Thierry Fischer, Ignat Solzhenitsyn, J. Reilly Lewis, and Diego Masson.
At the Academy, Guy was a student of Rod Franks, Mark David, James Watson, Howard Snell, and John Hutchins. He also had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses with Eric Aubier, Reinhold Friedrich, Kristian Steenstrup, Michael Laird, Thierry Caens, and Rex Richardson. Guy can be heard on recordings released under the Academy’s own label, “The Magic Flute: Live with Sir Collin Davis” and “Richard Strauss: Complete Works for Brass.”
After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 2009, Guy returned home to the United States. He currently resides in Lancaster and freelances in the greater DC/ Baltimore/Philadelphia metro areas. Guy is a member of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, and Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with many of the region’s professional orchestras, including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Concert Artists of Baltimore, Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra, Reading Symphony Orchestra, Kennett Symphony Orchestra, York Symphony Orchestra, and the Maryland Lyric Opera.
In addition to being a professional musician, Guy is an arts advocate and marketing specialist with a track record for leading arts and education-focused organizations to successfully build audiences, increase revenue, and expand their community impact. In 2020, he was named the Executive Director of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra.

Dana Newcomb is Acting Principal Oboe of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra. She also serves as Principal Oboe of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, and as Oboe and English horn with the Endless Mountain Music Festival orchestra. She frequently performs with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and Kennett Symphony, with additional experience performing in the oboe sections of orchestras such as the Delaware Symphony and Richmond Symphony. Formerly, she taught lessons and classes at the Music School of Delaware, including coaching sectionals for the student orchestra. She was featured as a soloist with the student orchestra on the Mozart Oboe Concerto while faculty there. Recently, she played oboe with The Knights of NYC on their recordings of all of the Edgar Meyer bass concerti with Edgar Meyer as soloist. She earned both her Bachelor of Music Performance and Master’s degrees from the Peabody Institute of Music in Baltimore, Maryland. Dana lives in Delaware and has two young daughters that learn piano with her after school.
